Ok, well, Nintendo said in 1-9-1999
that it will release this new console. It's
supposed to be released in August 2000 in Japan
and at the end of that year in the US and America.
The price will be up to $100, not more, since
Nintendo says they want to keep it at the same
price band as the current handhelds.
It will be 'backward compatible':
so you'll be able to play old Game Boy and Game
Boy color games (wow!) too. About the dimensions,
it's going to be 80mm high, 135 mm wide, and 25mm
thick. Nice eh?
The new LCD screen will be 61.2
mm high wide and 40.8mm high, so it will be
larger and more detailed than the Gameboy Color
one. But Nintendo, says it won't have a backlight,
due to power save reasons.
This console will have some 3D
capabilities, and it will be able to connect to
internet, download software, play games, and read
e-mail, and it WILL integrate with dolphin in all
its games, being able to integrate it into your
favourite dolphin game (!!).
It will still use cart as their
game format.
ARM is helping with its 32-bit
RISC CPU, and Konami with a new 128-bit software
for the games.
